The Delaware Historical Society is the statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to the exploration, preservation, and appreciation of Delaware history, heritage, and culture for the benefit of the public. The Delaware History Center dominates the 500 block of Market Street Mall in downtown Wilmington and is composed of the Delaware History Museum, Old Town Hall, Willingtown Square (a collection of four historic buildings, dating from 1748 to the early 1800s), and Delaware Historical Society Research Library. The Library has collected and preserved Delaware materials for over 135 years. On July 29, 2008, Herm Davis and I traveled to the Delaware Historical Society to return the Association’s treasured files. We met with Connie Cooper, Director of Library, Delaware Historical Society, 505 Market Street, Wilmington, Delaware. Connie was very cooperative and accepted the deposit of the Association files. The Delaware Historical Society does not charge to deposit objects, however they gladly accept and suggests contributions. I recommend that the DE-DC-MD Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators make a monetary contribution of to the Historical Society of Delaware. Again, particular thanks are due to Dr. Herm Davis and Gary Spoales who have worked diligently archiving, researching, and making recommendations to the DE-DC-MD Historical Society Committee. The Committee also pays respect and thanks to its members, Cheryl Watson, Ken Howard, Ellen Frishberg, and its newest member Barbara Williams. We pay homage to our deceased (Omega) members: Roscoe Dann and Larry DiGregorio. It is an absolute pleasure being a part of such a caring, studious and hard working Board. Thank you for your continuous support.
