Table Three Mission Statement
Did not generate a new draft – but had the following thoughts related to the draft mission
statement.
 watch the language – transforming combined with “our” is rather paternalistic
 would like to include a value on student voice in the mission statement – perhaps
something that acknowledges that recognizing and validating the individual
student drives many aspects of our institution
 likes the format of a one sentence direct statement followed by the identification
of programs and services that are offered in support of the mission
Table Four Mission Statement

including pluralism, environmental sensitivity, social responsibility, and global
awareness.
