Upcoming 2014 Event
Dates!
(Minutes of the Officer’s Meeting)
Thanks to everyone who brought food – corn and fish – to the
August general meeting! We had a very good attendance and a
great job by the cooks and Dan N. and Harlan L. for their Lecturer’s
program!
Mark Your Calendars!
Welcome back Ray and Cecelia (Cexey) Maiser! They have
recently moved back to Waconia after many years in Mesa, AZ.
Ray spent many years as an official of Council 2506. Their son Jim
Maiser has helped our council for many years with our tax form and
reports!

Thanks to everyone who helped with the audit report again this
year! Kudos goes mainly to Ted Schugg, our financial secretary
and Scott Rynerson, our treasurer as well as the assistants who did
the job in record time!
Our next general meeting is September 16 at the park, and will be
members only! A formal business meeting will begin at 7 pm,
followed by dinner prepared by Dan and Harlan.
We will host the 4th Degree meeting at the KC Park the next night
on September 17 at the KC Park. All are invited!
The next member and spouse (guest and widow also) program will
be Columbus Day Mass and Steak Fry Dinner on Saturday, October
11at the 5:15 mass. All Knights must sign a book before mass in
order to receive a $4.00 discount ticket to the Steak Fry at the
American Legion Hall (Limit of 2 discount tickets per family.)
Widows are also invited! Please attend the September meeting at
the park and read the September newsletter for more detail!

Nickle Dickle Day is One Week Away – Saturday, Sept 16! If
you have not signed up at the church (Don’t forget to put KC
after your name!) then you can still sign up here! This is a list of
people who have worked last year and/or expressed helping again
this year! But we can always use additional help! You can always
help us by doing some frying, shuffling the eggrolls & other food to
the booth (via Roger Deleeuw’s golf cart!) and clean up! Last year,
we got all 4,000 egg rolls done by about 12:30 -1:00 pm. The
trailer will be out by the school on Friday starting at noon to fry
some pre-order eggrolls. Afterwards, we will be storing it behind
the food shelf building until the ground freezes up and we can move
to the back of the church for the fish frys. THANK YOU IN
ADVANCE FOR YOUR GENEROSITY AND TIME!!!
Thanks to Andy Kleindl for storing it each year and to Roger
Deleeuw for the use of his golf cart! To help volunteer, call
Manny Camilon at 952-924-2589 and leave message where and
when you can help out – egg roll frying or Bingo!

KC Park Improvements! The KC Board passed unanimously the
installation of a new acoustic ceiling for the KC Park building. The
council will pick up 75% of the cost while the Association will
contribute 25%. New lights and fan extensions will also be added.
Additional work we discussed will be the scraping, priming and
painting of one outbuilding and the completion of the vinyl siding
on the other. The association feels that all of the people who have
rented the hall in the past have appreciated the good price (currently
$250), the convenience of facility itself, and they want to maintain
it in good shape for future rentals!
Lecturer’s Report - Our next regular meeting is on Sept. 16 at
7:00 p.m. at the KC Park. THIS IS A CLOSED MEETING
FOR KC MEMBERS ONLY! After the meeting we will have
lunch, refreshments and door prizes.
Thanks, Lecturer Dan Niesen & Harlan Lemke
Next Officer’s Meeting is on October 7 in the St. Paul Room
under the church. Home Association members, council officers
and any interested members are invited to attend.
Never too early to start to think about recommending a student
for Fr. McGivney Merit Grants! We very much want to award
some students with these grants, so here’s the qualifying
information: Applications open January 1 and close August 1.
Please spread the word about this Merit scholarship – we should
have many graduating students who can easily qualify! A
graduating student with acceptable grades, who is involved in
community and church programs or events, & who generally is
considered an all-round student! More information, applications
and deadlines can be obtained from financial secretary Ted Schugg
at 952-442-6374.
Do you have or know of a church that would like a Pro-Life
Monument? If so, contact Grand Knight Dan at 952-492-2769.
