Metabolism and Medical Nutrition Therapy, using innovative and advanced technology
teaching techniques. Developed and implemented the Dietetic Internship. Perform
scholarly activities, including recent collaborative research with UCDMC on projects
including “the effect of omega-3 fatty acids on PCOS,” through a NIH grant, “the effect
of whey protein on PCOS,” through a grant from Glanbia foods, and collaborative
research with the Department of Kinesiology and El Dorado High School District on
implementing health education through the high school curriculum to combat childhood
obesity funded through 2 Carol White Grants from the Department of Education through
2004-2007 and 2007-2010 each over $660,000 . Serve on graduate thesis committees.
2002 to the present member of the Faculty Policy Committee, 2008-2009 Chair of Faculty
Policy Committee, 2008-2009 member of the Executive Committee, 2008-2010 member
of the Senate, 2009 and 2010 member of the Committee on Committees, 2008-2010

textbook and bookstore task force, 2009-2011 panel chair of the pedagogy enhancement
award subcommittee. 2007 presented at the Expanding Your Horizons program with a
presentation on “fun with food and nutrition.” Service on the advisory committee for
CRC online dietetic technician program, Sierra College Nutrition and Food Science
Advisory Committee, and UCDMC Dietetic Internship Advisory Committee. Provide
