Class/Behavior Management for
Students with Severe Disabilities
This workshop will focus on the use
of positive behavior strategies with
an emphasis on proactive
management. Discussion and
activities will identify preventative
discipline techniques that will
improve the classroom environment
for both students and staff.
Individual behavior support plans
will also be discussed, as well as
positive behavior strategies for the
classroom and other school settings.
SDI with Explicit Instruction
This session will discuss “Specially
Designed Instruction” and will
provide various resources to assist
with identifying instructional
strategies and effective teaching
methodologies to address specific
skill deficits, when utilizing SDI
with students with disabilities as
recommended on the IEP.
Participants will learn about
effective instructional strategies to
maximize student learning.
Curricular modifications and
adaptations for the Common Core
will be explored as well as assistive
technology, Universal Design, and
other strategies for students in nondistrict settings.
