Minutes of Monthly Meeting
March 20, 2008

PRAYER was held 7:30—8:15 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: Glenn Stewart (Agape Christian Fellowship), George Jones (Family Life Church), Johnnie
Jenkins, Roger Handyside (Cornerstone Community Church), Carl (Spark) Ball (Love INC), Bob Rhyne (GraceLife
Church), and possibly others—Secretary neglected to make a list.
DEVOTION by host Bob Rhyne: blessings of the Resurrection as expressed in Psalm 16.
TREASURER’S REPORT by George Jones. Identical to last month, accepted as presented. 2007-2008 dues ($25)
are payable. Bank balance: $576.15.
SECRETARY’S REPORT by Bob Rhyne. February minutes were accepted as presented. They are available on the
Web site: www.gwma.homestead.com. Bob was thanked for including the text of minutes in the body of the email
notice.
BUSINESS AND DISCUSSION
 Casino Update: Glenn reported on Waukegan and the Tenth License. Gambling Action Alerts from
Illinois Churches for Action are forwarded to our email list regularly.
 GWMA Joint Good Friday Service: Friday, March 21st, 7:00pm, at Cornerstone with Cornerstone
worship team. Preaching by Johnnie; Welcome by Glenn; Offering by George; Publicity by Bob R.
 Roger alerted us to a dinner being planned in honor of Johnnie Jenkins upon his retirement as senior
pastor. It will be at Cornerstone on May 18.
 Spark Ball reported on ShareFest (www.sharefest.net): Prepping the parks coming up (April), backpack
drive (June-July) adopt-a-school (July), ShareFest proper (Sept 27—Oct 17).
 Glenn alerted us to plans for a School Based Health Clinic at Waukegan West High School. There is a
group opposing it on the belief that it will be a means to provide abortion services without parental
knowledge.
 Lake County Fourth Annual National Day of Prayer Breakfast will be held Thursday, May 1, at
Midlane Country Club, 6:45—9:00 a.m.. Tickets are $25 each or eight for $200. www.lcpb.org or phone
