Erosion Experiment Material needed: 1 packed cup of brown sugar 1 pie tin 1 cup of water Procedure: Tightly pack 1 cup with brown sugar. Carefully tip the brown sugar into the pin tin. Try to keep the shape of the cup. (You have just created a mountain) Slowly pour a small amount of water on the top of the brown sugar mountain. Make notes as to what is happening to the mountain as well as what is happening at the bottom of the tin. Continue to pour the water over the top of the Mountain. Keep making notes until there is definitely erosion taking place. (Remember erosion is the movement of sediments) Draw an illustration of the Mountain at the beginning, then draw illustration during the experiment to document the changes that are taking place.
