1. Website update
Inquiry conference was run for the Graduate Certificate - Building Professional Learning
communities on 10th November. Information about this was added to the website including a
recording of the opening plenary by Pat Thomson. Abstracts for each presentation has been
included as well and we are hoping that students will agree to their papers being linked – each
student has been contacted about this.
2. Graduate Certificate – Building professional learning communities - report
20 applications were received for this for 2007. This is fewer than expected. Information went out
late and also people are feeling stretched and taking on extra things is harder than ever. Mix of
people is not quite as diverse as last year – only two classroom teachers and not a spread
across districts. All current applicants have been accepted.
A second round of applications is being sought to achieve a better balance – need more
secondary and more people from districts not represented. Applications are due in 11th
December by noon. The reference group will meet on 13th December to look at applications.
Next year in the inquiry strand, the three grad cert cohorts which Uni SA runs will work together.
3. ICC Membership 2007
14 people have indicated their interest and are all very enthusiastic about being on the
committee. Bev has emailed them to welcome them to the committee. (Since the 4 others have
put in later applications).
Before the next meeting, Bev to talk with Paul re budget for ICC and check with Paul re
sponsoring ICC.
4. Review and reflection of our work so far
o Will need the first meeting to include reflection on purpose and negotiation of plan
o Discussion about possibilities of TD sessions next year that might be coordinated
through ICC.
o Some meetings will need to focus on tools to make progress on tools added to website
o Explore Learning to Learn ‘thingy’ – see Katrina Spencer
o Could add inquiry focus to Leaders Learning through SACLE
o Info out to the field needs to be better
o Showcase of ideas should happen sometime in 2007
o Better connection with Grad Cert through committee members
o May use inquiry process to investigate what kind of support is useful and how to sustain
inquiry
o Kathy Cotter – Professional Learning Framework
Thankyou to Trevor Short, Alison Arblaster, Roger Nottage, Deb Graham who will retire from the
committee. Still checking DD reps, Carolyn Green.
5. Meeting dates for 2007
Week 5 and week 9 of Term 1 – Fridays 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm
Week 4 on 23rd February is the first meeting of the Grad certificate for 2007 so ICC can’t meet
then.
