Through analyzing the Mayan, Incan, and Aztec civilization, which group do
you believe was the most successful? Why?

To be successful, you need to be very organized and have sophisticated
government. The Incas had a great government and were very organized. In addition, the
Incas were skilled engineers and had great communication. This is why out of the three
civilizations; the Aztecs, the Mayas, and the Incas, the Incas were the most successful.
The Incas were the most successful civilization. First, they were organized.
Communication is essential to stay organized so they built 10,000 miles worth of roads.
This was essential to there communication. They had runners. The runners ran back and
forth between different cities and the capital Cuzco. This kept them well organized
because the governors of the cities knew what was going on along with the empire. The
runners carried a quipu. It was a cord or strong that had knots that stood for quantities or
amounts. For example, it could represent the numbers of soldiers. This kept them
organized as well. This way they were all kept “on the same page” and well informed.
Furthermore, the Incas had governors for each city. The governors were part of
the empires family. They made sure that everything was running smoothly and that
everyone did their share in government work. The people did government work so there
weren’t big taxes. They could have worked on construction projects, served in wars or
took a governmental position.
The Incas were also skilled engineers. They built massive stone temples and forts.
They also created terraces which are wide steps of land. In addition, they figured out how
to farm in the dry rugged mountains of the Andres. Finally, the Incas were the biggest
civilization. That is why the Incas were the most successful.
The Aztecs weren’t as successful because they weren’t very organized. All they
had was an empire and there wasn’t any communication. Also, there were heavy taxes so
it wasn’t a very peaceful civilization. The Mayas were very advances in astronomy and
mathematics although they didn’t have an official government. The priests basically ran
the civilization. That is why they weren’t as successful.
In conclusion, the Incas were the most successful because they were organized
and had a system of government. More over, they were skilled engineers. The Aztecs not
the Mayas had a great government or were organized. That is why in my opinion, the
Incas were the most successful civilization.
