How to fill the excel file for submission to Pasteur Guadeloupe :

1. Strain No. = strain number only.
If possible mention 5 digits, e.g., write 00017 for strain number 17
2. Year of isolation = As a 4 digit value, e.g. 1999, 2001 etc. (if unknown put 0000)
3. Mycobacterial Species =


Mention one of the M. tuberculosis complex sub-species e.g., M. tuberculosis, M.
africanum, M. bovis, M. caprae etc.
Mention MTC (for M. tuberculosis complex) if sub-species were not identified
4. Isolation Country = country of isolation
5. Isolation City = city of isolation
6. Animal Host (species/sex) = only for animal isolates

Report species (cow, dog, etc.)
7. Human host (sex/age) = only for human isolates


Report sex as “M” or “F”
Report age in “years”
8. Human host (country of origin/ethnicity) =


Whenever possible, precise country of origin which is a helpful indicator
If permitted, provide ethnicity
9. Spoligotype 43 = fill as follows




As 43 spacer binary code (mention “1” or “n” for a positive spot, and 0 “zero” or
letter “o” for negative spot)
Alternatively, you may use the 15 digit octal code of the spoligotype
Provide name of the investigator (Name + initials, e.g. “Kremer K”).
Provide Laboratory (brief name, city, and country)
10. 5-loci VNTRs (ETRs A to E) = 5 digit VNTRs



In the order Exact Tandem Repeats A, B, C, D, E
Provide name of the investigator

11. 12-loci MIRUs = 12 digit MIRU values only




15. Comments = mention any pertinent additional information :


specify drug resistances as asked above
provide any clinical and/or demographic information worth mentioning, e.g.,
