Mission Statement
The instrumental program at Ann Antolini School will develop musical knowledge
and skills through performing music at the 5th and 6th grade level. Through small
group lessons and a full band experience, the students will develop technical
abilities on an instrument. In addition to performance skills, an understanding of
history and culture, music appreciation, social and emotional development, selfdiscipline, self-esteem, cooperation, and creativity will be fostered through a
variety of activities related to the musical works being studied by the instrumental
students. The instrumental music program at Ann Antolini School is designed for
all 5th and 6th grade students at all ability levels.

Lessons and Ensembles
The following instruments will be offered to all band students: Flute,
Oboe, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Euphonium,
and Percussion (drums and mallets).
Each band student will receive 1 half-hour small-group lesson per week

an excellent idea of how the instrument really sounds. See Miss Zalneraitis for a
