attendance at the last meeting. There was a conflict with finals. USG representatives

responsible to getting the new Dance Minor in place. This project has been in
process for several years. The new Fine Arts Building that opened in January will
house the Dance Minor and also Jewelry, Sculpture, and Ceramics Programs. Note
that the white wall and entrance area will be used as gallery space.

Chair’s Report and New Business – Dr. Dobrov
Dr. Dobrov expressed his thanks for the e-mails received in response to the controversy
at the last meeting.
Dr. Crawford mentioned that funds have been identified to support a new
interdisciplinary speaker series in the AY 07-08. He asked that faculty come up with
ideas for topics. A request for proposals (RFP) will be issued to the faculty soliciting
creative interdisciplinary topics that will encourage people to work together. Some
things that have been considered include: 1) Social Justice in an Era of Globalization, 2)
Race, Culture, and Gender in the US, and 3) Science and the Sacred. Josh Hogan asked
that the USG be included in the distribution of the RFP.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
