MIDDLE LEADERS’
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME: 2013
‘Developing our Leaders’ is aimed at middle leaders who want to make a difference . It is widely recognised that an effective team of middle leaders is a key driver in any school’s success, and that they cannot achieve this effectiveness without meaningful focus on their development as leaders. The main aim of our programme is to enable our participants to develop their leadership skills, strategies and attributes, and to feel confident and committed to making an impact on the quality of children’s learning at DIS.

The core themes over the 4 day programme are:
leading learning and teaching
leading and managing others
(eg. emotional intelligence, accountability, conflict)
managing accountability
team leadership
leading change
It will be expected that all participants will:
January 2013
June 2013 a) attend all 4 days of the programme b) undertake the school-based leadership project; this will ensure that the programme has a meaningful impact at DIS as the programme progresses c) take part in the leadership coaching group discussions during the programme to enhance participant learning and development
The programme is designed and led by Tim Tatham . Tim is a former headteacher in the UK and he has led a range of leadership programmes in the UK and abroad. Tim works with headteachers and leadership teams in school improvement, he coaches headteachers and senior leaders, and he is a School Improvement Partner in the UK.
