British Showjumping Club Shows: Classes 2, 3, 4 and 6 are open to British Showjumping Club members.
Riders do not have to be British Showjumping Club members before they enter. Riders who gain points need to
register as a Club Member within 7 days of the show for their points to be counted. Ponies classed as not
exceeding 148cms. Horses classed as exceeding 148cms. Classes are split for Horses and Ponies. Club
league points will be: awarded in Riders own Regional League tables; to horse/pony and rider combinations;
points will be awarded as follows: 1st: 12pts, 2nd: 10pts, 3rd: 8pts, 4th: 6pts, 5th: 4pts, 6th: 3pts. 3pts will be
awarded to all double clear rounds.

Competitors must ring for their times on Wednesday before the competition between

Team Quest: Two categories: Byrds Team – all riders up to the end of the year of their 25th birthday. Open Team
– Riders of any age. All team members must have a minimum of a Team Quest Club membership. All horses
must have a minimum of a Free Associate Horse Registration. Teams: minimum 3 members, maximum 4.
Team name must be registered with BD and have a nominated Team captain. A Team may only be represented
once per competition day.
Competitors are responsible for making themselves aware of the rules.
RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. Box and trailer parking is in the field opposite Snowball Farm.
2. Full and correct riding attire must be worn in all classes.
3. Correctly fitting hard hat manufactured to one of the minimum current standards, such as PAS015:1998; with BSI Kite mark,
with a three-point linkage properly adjusted and fastened must be worn by all riders, whether competing or not, at all times
whilst mounted at Snowball Farm.
4. No stallions except by permission and no horses under 5 years of age.
5. Warm-Up Areas: no-one on foot allowed in warm-up areas. No lungeing/leading in all-weather warm-up arena. Competitors
must leave the warm-up areas immediately if asked to do so by a steward/official. Additional warm up to the rear of
Trailer/Lorry park.
6. The organisers will not be held responsible for any accident, loss or injury to any person or their property however this may be
caused.
7. Dressage will be run in accordance to the British Dressage Group Rule Book. Showjumping will be run in accordance with the
British Showjumping Rule Book.
8. As this competition is designed to encourage unaffiliated combinations, fully paid up affiliated combinations of horse and rider
may enter but must ride HC in the Show Jumping and Dressage. Please refer to rules for individual Qualifiers AND Team
Quest entries.
9. Permitted Bits – you may be eliminated from the Dressage if your bit does not comply with those specified in the BD Rule
Book. Please make yourself aware of these rules.
10. It is the responsibility of competitors to be aware of the rules.
11. The judges’ and organisers’ decision is final. Any objection must be made in writing with a £10 deposit, which is returnable if
the objection is upheld.
12. The organisers reserve the right to alter the schedule at any time.
13. The organisers reserve the right to amalgamate or cancel classes with insufficient entries.
14. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any class for whatever reason they deem necessary.
15. Dogs must be kept on non-extendable leads and under control at all times.
16. Please keep horses well away from the riding school.
17. Spectators are welcome but please keep children under close supervision and park in the horse box/trailer park and not in the
farm car park.
ENTRIES
1. Online and Postal entries only. Telephone & E-mail entries will not be accepted. Entries may be posted when completing
debit/credit card details which must be signed. Incomplete entries will not be counted. For online entries please visit

2. Entries close 5pm on the Friday one week before the competition, after which late entries, if space is available, are £2.50
extra per Class. Incomplete entries will not be counted.
3. Competitors may ride up to two horses in the same class.
4. We cannot guarantee a place in the competition before the close of entry, but there will be a waiting list. A stamped
addressed envelope should be included so that your entry can be returned if you indicate that you do not wish to be added to
the Waiting List if Classes are full, also for us to forward your Score Sheet after the event. Entries will be taken on a firstcome-first-served basis.
5. Combined Training: competitors will be issued with numbers – please bring your bib.
6. Show Jumping: numbers will not be called. If you are not present the next entry will go in and you will go to the bottom of the
list. Show Jumping competitors take precedence over Clear Round riders in the collecting ring.
7. Show Jumping Classes will be jumped as Two Phase, whereby if the competitor goes clear in the first round they will
continue immediately to jump off round against the clock.
8. SJ Class 1 - Horse/Pony not to have been placed in any British Showjumping Competition. Horse/Pony & Rider combination
not to have been placed 1st in any Show Jumping Competition. Competitors entering Mini may not enter Classes 4, 5 and 6.
9. SJ Class 2 - Horse/Pony not to have been placed in any British Showjumping Competition. Competitors entering Minimus may
not enter Classes 4, 5 and 6.
10. SJ Class 3 – Competitors entering Novice may not enter Class 6.
11. British Showjumping Horse and Rider combinations must ride HC in Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4. Classes 5 and 6 are open to British
Show Jumping affiliated Horse and Rider combinations. British Showjumping members may compete in Class 6 for prize
money providing they are located within 15 mile radius of Snowball Farm EC, otherwise prize money will be passed down to
next non-British Showjumping placed competitor. Prize money subject to minimum number of entries.
12. The secretary must be notified of any change of horse or rider at least 20 minutes before the start of the class or the entry will
become void. Change of horse and rider is not allowed.
13. Those who withdraw in writing before the closing date will have their entry fee, less an administration fee of £4 per Class
refunded. Entry fees in any other circumstances will not be refunded unless a class is cancelled due to insufficient entries.
14. CHEQUES - Competitors whose cheque is not honored by the Bank for ANY REASON, will incur a fee of £5, which must be
paid before any future entries are accepted.
15. Competitors must indicate whether they are Junior or Senior and riding a Horse or Pony. If Junior please give age. This
is so Qualifiers can be correctly organized.
STARTING TIMES
Starting times will be available on the Wednesday preceding the competition between 6.30pm and 8.30pm on 07731902105
(DO NOT USE 01628 666222 as no one will be available to answer this line). If a competitor fails to ring before 8.30pm they
will automatically be withdrawn and lose their entry fee, someone on the waiting list will take their place. If you have
problems calling on this evening please email shows@snowballfarm.co.uk prior to this date.
