Brief Summary of Changes to Science Concentrations and Courses
Life Science Concentrations:
The following Life Science
Concentrations are now available to
all students:
* = new option
Biological Anthropology track within Anthropology
Chemical and Physical Biology*
Chemistry
Human Evolutionary Biology*
Molecular and Cellular Biology*
Neurobiology*
Organismic and Evolutionary Biology*
Social and Cognitive Neurosciences track within Psychology*
Concentrations in Biochemical Sciences and Biology have been replaced by these new concentrations. Current
concentrators may continue in their old concentration or may declare one of the new concentrations.
Biochemical Sciences and Biology are not available to the Class of 2010.
Course Name Changes and Replacements:
The following courses have been renamed, and the scope and
content of the new courses are roughly equivalent to the old
courses:
BS 52  MCB 52
BS 53  OEB 53
BS 54  MCB 54
BS 55  OEB 55
BS 56  MCB 56
BS 57  OEB 57
BS 60  MCB 60
BS 80  MCB 80
Courses that were formerly designated as Biological Anthropology (Anthropology 1310-1580) are now listed
under Human Evolutionary Biology (Human Evolutionary Biology 1310-1580) in Courses of Instruction.
The following courses have been discontinued, and are
replaced by NEW courses, in which the content, scope and
prerequisites have been changed:
Students who had planned to take courses that are no longer
offered to satisfy concentration, premedical or other
requirements should discuss alternative new courses with a
knowledgeable adviser.
