All Students:
Important Tip: Many times there are long waiting lists for highly-recommended professionals in these areas of
specialty. You can make an initial appt., but also ask to be put on the cancellation list. As soon as someone cancels
their appt., they will call people on the cancellation list to fill in appt. times that have been cancelled by other
patients. If you are on a cancellation list, you could get in weeks or months earlier than your original appt. is
scheduled.
This is a list of the most highly recommended psychiatrists (medication) and psychologists/therapists (cognitive
behavior/talk therapy) in these fields in our local area. Psychologists and therapists take slightly different
coursework, but both are licensed to provide therapy. Most adult psychologists/therapists also do marriage and
family counseling, or will refer you to someone who specializes in those areas.
If you do not have insurance, many of these individuals/clinics will work with you to set up a monthly payment plan
that is manageable for you. If you ever find that a particular individual/clinic will not accept you as a patient because
you do not have insurance, please contact me, and I will help you.

encourage you to attend at least one appt. and see what the experience is like. The decision to continue or not is
entirely your own. I am willing to help in any way I can; please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
