Date: To: The Right Honorable Hubert A. Ingraham, Prime Minister of the Bahamas RE: South Abaco Blue Holes Conservation Area Rt. Honorable Prime Minister Ingraham, I would like to take this opportunity to show my full support for the proposed South Abaco Blue Holes Conservation Area located on Abaco Island, Bahamas. The blue holes and underwater caves found within the proposed area are some of the greatest treasures ever bestowed up on the islands of the Bahamas. This conservation area proposal is a partnership between the Bahamas Caves Research Foundation, The Antiquities Monuments and Museums Corporation, Friends of the Environment and the Bahamas National Trust as well as the local people of Abaco. Scientists and explorers have proven that the sites within the proposed area contain the vast amounts of previously unknown Bahamian history from long before the first humans ever stepped foot on the beaches of these islands. The inland caves here have been revered by cave divers and explorers for many years as the most exquisitely decorated underwater caves on planet earth. Massive rooms filled with clear and white crystals of every description and size have brought the likes of National Geographic Magazine and Nova to these sites in order to document the amazing discoveries found beneath the pine forests of the proposed area. This new found publicity has created a unique niche in eco-tourism for Abaco and people from all around the globe have come to the Bahamas specifically to dive in these amazing caves. Please consider my letter of support for the South Abaco Blue Holes Conservation Area as I feel these caves are truly a national treasure for the Bahamas as well as literal time vaults of Bahamian history. Sincerely, Name: Address: E-mail Address:
