Duties and Responsibilities:
 Receive endorsement from outgoing nursing staff.
 Ensure that patient’s recovering from anesthesia receive skilled nursing care that provides the
optimal condition from safe emergence from anesthesia.
 Check and monitor patient’s condition and ensure that patients receive quality Nursing care at all
times.
 Provide for patient care during emergence from anesthesia and in the immediate postoperative
period.
 Observe early signs and symptoms of post anesthesia complications.
 Assess patient’s general condition such as vital signs, oxygen saturation, and neurological status
and perform direct action.
 Assist patient during the transition state from unconsciousness to consciousness.
 Provide short term monitoring and observation of certain other patients as required.
 Observe and report all abnormal findings to doctor and carry out written orders..
 Chart observation complaints and untoward reaction of the patient.
 Administer and record prescribed medications and treatment.
 Record and evaluate effectively of implemented nursing action
 Perform other duties that may be assigned.
 Develop and maintain expertise thru regular, scheduled in service and lectures, seminars and other
educational activities
 Keeps an open channel of communication with head nurse and supervisor on duty for any help or
assistance that may be required
 Be at all times polite, respectful and kind with patients, relatives and coworkers.
