Dear Parents,
Here is some important information about several exciting events.
Trip to Wells Cathedral on Tuesday 3rd December.
We will be taking part in one of the Annual Primary Schools Christmas Concerts in Wells
Cathedral. The concert is from 7:00pm until 8:15pm. Parents are welcome, but be sure to
arrive early to get a good seat.
We shall need to leave school just before 12 noon, as the rehearsal starts at 1:30pm.
After the rehearsal, we will be able to go to the cinema. I don’t know what the film will
be yet, but the cost will be £4.50 per child. About £1.50 can be brought on the day in
order to buy a drink and a snack at the cinema. After the film we will be walking back to
the Cathedral buildings to eat a packed supper.
Children will need a packed lunch and a packed supper, snacks and drinks and, if you
wish, a small amount of money to buy a drink and a snack at the cinema.
* Children have been asked to wear Santa hats, so we would be grateful if you would
provide one.
We shall be travelling to Wells by coach or minibus (yet to be decided), leaving school at
12 noon. Please try to organise your own transport home.
Children are required to learn the words to all the carols that they will be performing
(approx 10 in all). Please bear this in mind when you decide whether your child should
participate.
CLP Advent Concert, St Michael’s Church, Somerton on Thursday 5th December.
Our choir will be performing in the Huish CLP Advent Concert in St Michael’s Parish
Church, Somerton. We will be travelling by minibus and cars if necessary, leaving school
at approx. 12:15pm, after an early lunch. The concert starts at 2:00pm, after a
rehearsal. Please send a packed lunch and also a bottle of water with your child as no
drinks are available. Do come and support us if you can. Children may be collected by any
parents who come to watch the concert, or they may return to school with us. Please
indicate your intentions on the form so that we know exactly how many children we are
bringing back.
NB It is often chilly in the church so wearing an extra vest may be a good idea if it is a
cold day.
School Christmas Fayre Friday 6th December
Finally, we shall be singing a few of our favourite songs at the Christmas Fayre after
school on the Friday. More details to follow.
Please return all forms by Mon 25th November to give us enough time to make all the
arrangements. Thank you for your help and support.
For each of these events we would like choir members to wear a clean school
sweatshirt.
