BIOGRAPHIES PATHFINDER Print Resources POWER Library – Biography Reference Bank Check class cart for appropriate titles. Check InfoCentre for additional materials. Encyclopedias under the windows Click the POWER Library icon on your computer’s desktop. In the Biography section, click on the link to Biography Reference Bank. When the Biography Reference Bank window opens, do the following: Type your person’s last name, first name in the FIND box. (Example – Jackson, Percy) In the IN box, select Person from the drop-down menu. Click the Start button. Click on the link to your person’s name in the results list. For additional resources, click on any links listed on the left side of the page under Biographies. POWER Library – SIRS Discoverer Click the POWER Library icon on your computer’s desktop. Click one of the links to SIRS Discoverer. When the SIRS Discoverer window opens, type your person’s name in the search box at the top of the page and click the Search button. When the search results window opens, select an article title and click on it. Try the links with your person’s name in the title. They are probably the most relevant. Grolier Online Click the Grolier On-Line icon on your computer’s desktop. Type the name of your person in the Find It Fast! box at the top of the page. Click the Go button. Select an article from the results screen. Select one from Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia (GME) if one is available. Use the How to Cite This Article link for citation format. UXL Biographies Click the UXL Biographies icon on your computer’s desktop. Type the name of your person in the search box at the top of the page. Click the Search button.
