APPLICATION PACKET
Dear Prospective Associated Student Government Candidate:
Thank you for your interest in joining the Student Leadership Team for the 2015-2016 academic year.
At CPTC, there are a variety of ways that students can be involved on campus. Supported by the
Services and Activities Fee collected from every student’s tuition, The Office of Student Involvement
provides campus programming, organizations and leadership opportunities to all currently enrolled
students. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Membership in Student Leadership gives you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, learn
administrative skills, earn extra income and serve the campus community. Throughout your term of
service you will have numerous opportunities to develop your leadership potential, get involved with
state and campus governance, have opportunities for travel and make a difference for other CPTC
students. Organizational descriptions and membership details are as follows:
The President will serve as the liaison to the College Administration and attend all Board of Trustees
meetings as the student representative. They shall serve as the chair of the Student Council, a voting
member of the Services & Activities Budget Committee, and representative to the College Assembly.
The President ensures the involvement of the student body in the formation of college policies and is
responsible for implementing action on motions passed by the Student Council. They shall meet as
needed with the Vice President of Student Success and the college President.
The Administrative Officer will keep an accurate record of attendance, motions and voting of all
Student Council meetings. They shall record, file and post minutes of Student Council meetings, Club
Council, Constitution and By-Laws Review Committee and the Services & Activities Budget Committee.
Preserve all records, reports, and documents of the Student Council in an organized and permanent file
to be kept in the Office of Student Involvement. Serve as chair of the Selections Committee
The Health & Wellness Programmer The focus of this programmer will be to offer four to six
quarterly events that provide students opportunities to de-stress or improve personal fitness. They will
be responsible for hosting workshops/classes/fitness series for CPTC students.

Student Involvement Mission Statement
Student Involvement is the administrative entity that advises and directs the efforts of student leadership
development, student center facilities and the ASG. We enhance student learning and success through a
comprehensive array of student engagement and leadership development programs and services.
Application Process







Applications are due by November 2 @ 3 PM. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Select students will be contacted for an individual interview scheduled for November 17-18. All
applicants will be contacted about the status of their application by November 11.
Anticipated start date is January 4.
Membership Requirements






Responsible for fulfilling their job description
Must be a currently registered CPTC student
Maintain a quarterly and cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
Must be a student in good standing with the College, ASG and the community.
Responsible for enrolling in a minimum of 1 college credit (summer, fall, winter, and spring)
Expected to work regular required hours during the academic quarter(s)
If you do not meet one or more of the above requirements, you may appeal to have your application considered by the
Selection Committee. Please include a statement with your completed application packet explaining to the committee why
you should be considered for the position(s) you are applying for, and explaining any circumstances that may have prevented
you from meeting a requirement(s). Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that your application will be considered for an
interview by the Selection Committee.
Hours Required:
Varies between 12-19 hours. Ten (10) weekly office hours with additional work hours to include:
 Organization meetings
 Quarterly trainings/retreats
 Student sponsored events and programs
 Monthly all-team meetings
 Office & work hours
 Committee meetings
Compensation:
Members will be paid an hourly $10.43 wage.
