Regarding the encoding of special clouds and supplementary cloud types an inconsistency was discovered by Eva Cervena and discussed. Special clouds and Supplementary cloud type should not be encoded within one replication as the direction (020054) and evolution (020137) could be different for each. Eva Cervena proposed a modification of this part of the sequence which was highly appreciated and adopted with many thanks. As this sequence is meant for additional synoptical parameters for multiple use it is proposed to keep it for validation. It is foreseen that other modification may be recommendable if more investigations were done by other countries, e.g. Russia at the moment.
