Ticknall Cricket Club The Grange Ticknall Derbyshire Job Description Post Responsible to Player/Coach Director of Cricket Job Purpose The post holder will be responsible for delivering and coordinating a programme of cricket based activities across the club and within our existing PESCL schools. Delivering a full development initiative they will undertake coaching and deliver an annual festival of cricket for these schools. The post holder will be responsible for the preparation of the clubs 1st XI team for all competitions and as a player will be of a proven playing standard commensurate with Premier Division cricket in Derbyshire. The post holder will act as the senior coach within the clubs Junior programme. They will be responsible for the delivery of coaching across the club. This role will cover the delivery of the FUNdamentals programme of Long Term Athlete Development through to the coaching of identified Gifted and Talented cricketers within the clubs ‘elite athlete group’. Main Duties and Responsibilities Junior Cricket 1. To increase participation, competition and skill levels within the club 2. To monitor all activity in accordance with key performance indicators 3. To coach young people of all abilities and ages and cater for a wide range of experience 4. To develop and deliver a comprehensive cricket programme within the club showing clear pathways for young cricketers 5. To develop and expand current PESCL links 6. To coach with a focus on FUNdamentals and LTAD within the clubs Junior programme 7. To organise an annual festival of cricket for local schools 8. To retain young people in cricket by ensuring high quality, enjoyable, young-person-centred experience and providing guidance on progression opportunities based on the young players individual interests and abilities 9. As the Senior Coach to supervise/mentor/guide all of the existing coaching staff within the club and inspire other players to take on coaching responsibilities 10. To undertake the preparation of documented coaching programmes throughout the club 11. To provide quantative and qualitative progress reports on the coaching programme to the line manager and as required by the management of the club 12. To be responsible for the identification of young players with talent and for the preparation and submission of the required documentation for nominations for representative cricket at District and County levels. 13. To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time and which are commensurate with this post within the club. Senior Cricket 1. To act as Coach to the clubs 1st XI. 2. To develop and deliver a coaching programme commensurate with cricket played at Premier Division level in Derbyshire for all of clubs senior sides 3. To play within the clubs 1st XI team and maintain a personal level of competence commensurate with the level of cricket played 4. To identify cricketers across the club who should be part of the senior squads and develop a coaching programme for these players as part of a planned and documented scheme of succession planning.
