Section III – Hazards Identification
Hazard Overview: Eye contact may cause eye irritation with discomfort, tearing, or
blurring of vision. Skin contact may cause skin irritation with discomfort or rash.
Repeated skin contact to zirconium compounds may cause granulomas (inflammatory
injury with knot-like swellings) of the skin. Inhalation may cause respiratory tract
irritation or bronchiolitis. Ingestion may cause nonspecific discomfort, such as nausea,
headache, or weakness.
Section IV – First Aid Measures
Eyes: Flush thoroughly with running water at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if
irritations persist.
Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash contact area with soap and water for 15
minutes.
Inhalation: If inhaled, remove person to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, administer
artificial respiration and seek medical attention. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen and
seek medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Immediately give 2 glasses of water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Note to Physicians: Activated charcoal mixture may be beneficial. Suspend 50g
activated charcoal in 400-ml water and mix well. Administer 5ml/kg or 350-ml for an
average adult.
