SALARY: Main Scale + TLR1c LOCATION: Oasis Academy Mayfield WORKING PATTERN: Full Time DISCLOSURE LEVEL: Enhanced JOB PURPOSE: In addition to carrying out the professional duties of a qualified teacher in accordance with the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document, the post holder, in consultation with their line manager and the Principal, shall take responsibility for: SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Strategic Direction and Development of Teaching and Learning within Maths Establishing and maintaining policies and practices which promote high achievement and excellent outcomes for all students from all start points. Creating an environment where students and staff develop and maintain positive attitudes towards teaching and learning Analysing national, local and Academy data, research and inspection findings to inform curriculum area policies and practices, expectations and teaching methodologies and to report regularly to the Associate Principal or delegate Leadership Team member/Academy Council on progress and plans Using data effectively to monitor and evaluate student progress; planning and implementing effective intervention to support all students to achieve highly To stay abreast of changes in the educational landscape, ensuring the effective preparation of our young people for the next phase of their education, employment or training B. Teaching and Learning within Maths To develop teaching and learning in Maths, to secure the aspiration that teaching is never less than good every lesson, every day. To ensure all teachers use data to inform their planning, which in turn accelerates the progress of all learners To provide and oversee developmental support for colleagues who are not making the expected progress required for all learners Ensure that appropriate, challenging and differentiated Long Term Plans (Programmes of Learning) and Medium Term Plans (Schemes of Learning) are in place for all teaching groups and related courses delivered in Maths and Statistics. Monitoring the progress of students regularly against prior attainment and local and national norms and identify students at risk of underachieving. Ensure all groups of learners make exceptional progress throughout their time in the Academy. C. Efficient and Effective Deployment of Staff and Resources within Maths To manage the performance of members of staff through effective line management and Performance Review/Appraisal To lead the development of the mathematic team to ensure excellent outcomes. Using appropriate resources, in consultation with members of the Leadership Team, for effective, efficient and safe teaching and learning within the subject area, to include accommodation, staff, time, courses, development opportunities and ICT equipment Creating an effective and stimulating learning environment for teaching and learning Ensuring a safe working and learning environment through application of appropriate risk assessments Effective management/monitoring of technical support and accommodation D. Teaching Commitment The post holder will be expected to teach in line with the Academy’s generic teacher’s job specification. Designated non-contact time for leadership and management responsibilities will be made available B.
