SSCB Child Sexual Exploitation
Exemption Checklist for Level 2 CSE training
All members of the workforce who work directly or indirectly with children,
young people and/or their parents/carers should complete training on Child
Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and understand how to recognise and support
young people engaging in harmful sexual behaviour. This is a complex and
crucial part of safeguarding children and young people and has been
identified as a priority for the SSCB.
The training pathway for this area of learning and development includes the
following stages:
Level 1: CSE e learning (Surrey CC) to increase understanding and
awareness of CSE. There is an expectation that all workers will complete this
training which is accessed through the SSCB website or Surrey Skills
Academy.
Level 2: Half day face to face training; recognition, referral, and response,
including learning about the CSE screening tool. This is designed for
professionals working directly with children, young people and their families.
Level 3: Advanced training for those who work with and support children,
young people and their families who have experienced CSE or who are
vulnerable and at risk of CSE.
You may have received similar or equivalent training within your organisation
or elsewhere. Therefore, the SSCB has produced the following exemption
checklist for professionals who request an exemption from Level 2 CSE
training. This only applies if the training was completed within the last 12
months.
In order to receive an exemption, complete the following checklist and return
to the SSCB for consideration. If exemption is agreed, the SSCB training
officer will countersign this form and return it to you. Please ensure you keep
this form as part of your professional development record.
