SAS Business Intelligence Consultant Scope: Provides SAS consulting services, including solution development, implementation and closeout, at customer sites. Develops applications for internal use; designs, implements, and presents customer prototypes. Builds applications development tools. Oversees the technical progress of ongoing services. Primary responsibilities for role: Implements prototypes for use in sales situations and site visits. Develops and maintains internal applications. Develops, tests, and implements software applications for internal and external customers; takes direction from technical lead or project manager as assigned. Reviews and edits documentation for consulting projects, the Education Division and other divisions as needed. Provides input to project team to define scope and work effort for assigned tasks. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good working knowledge of at least one operating system; good programming skills using a object oriented programming language such as JAVA (prefered), C++, etc.; excellent written and oral communication, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with users with various technical backgrounds. Experience: Two years current (within the last four years) experience programming in an object oriented programming language, preferably in technology areas such as reporting systems or web-based information portals. Knowledge of heterogenous IT environment is an advantage. Specific industry-related experience may be considered in combination with the above. SAS Data Integration Consultant Scope: Provides SAS consulting services, including solution development, implementation and closeout, at customer sites. Knowledge of data modelling techniques and tools for visual design of ETLs is advantage. Specific industry-related experience may be considered in combination with the above. SAS Analytical Consultant Scope: Provides analytical services independently or jointly with other departments to current and prospective customers. Develops statistical and analytical applications and presentations for consulting sessions using knowledge of analytical methods and related SAS procedures and products. Primary responsibilities for role: Provides statistical assistance for statistical consulting sessions. Supports data acquisition, validation, and management from incoming data sources. Becomes proficient in the use of base SAS software, SAS/STAT procedures, and statistical add-on SAS products such as Enterprise Miner. Provides assistance to other members of the group in the cleaning and preparation of data for data mining and analysis. Works closely with clients in defining media for transferring data and loading data onto company systems for analyses. Reviews documentation, publications, and course materials Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Master's degree in Statistics or closely related field. Knowledge of at least one operating system supported by SAS software. Ability to communicate with people with various technical backgrounds, think analytically, write and edit technical material, and relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical SAS users. Experience: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements.
