ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS GROUP MAJOR
FOR ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHING (K-8)

The English Language Arts Group major for Elementary Certification consists of 36 credits selected from four areas of emphasis: Literature, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. Candidates for certification must pass the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in Language Arts
(Test #90). Candidates must demonstrate their knowledge in the following categories:
