Take digital photos of the different areas within the school e.g.buildings/spaces suitable for particular weather or time of day. View images on a web site of houses in extreme climates (key words : houses of the world) Places/buildings protecting from weather. 2. Learning Tasks Protective clothing Collect and categorise clothing according to weather. Selects fabric from given samples that would suit clothes for summer/winter, wet/dry & classify Test materials and fabrics to find which is waterproof. Each child can bring a teddy to school, dressed for an activity or weather that needs protective clothing. 3. Learning Tasks Seasons Collect or draw pictures that match the 4 seasons. Discuss the changes that occur gradually between the seasons. Make a chart/collage of the seasons. Identify different foods that are eaten in different seasons. Temperature 4. Learning Tasks Make a class thermometer using colours- red, orange, blue... (Place coloured stickers over the numbers). Discuss hot and cold colours.
