adjectives, the imperative and present tenses of regular and irregular
verbs
Prepare and deliver a 5 minute speech to get someone to take action on
an issue. Themes may be selected by the students, but must be
approved by the teacher

Identify the elements of a novel: intrigue, character, scene, conflict, theme,
point of view
Demonstrate understanding of the novel through a variety of questions,
quizzes, tests, projects
Develop and express a personal reaction to the novel in creative ways

acativities)
