2009 Sporting Challenge
Sale of top Quality youngsters
Again I offer the pigeon fancy 19 quality youngster from the fanciers who
participated in my Sporting Challenge / Fancier of the Year compitition. As many of
you who read my articles know my number one subject is THE PIGEON and I have
tried to promote these wonderful distance pigeons since starting this one bird
nomination contest. The response I receive from many readers of the BHW is how
much they enjoy these write-ups also the knowledge gained is invaluable and more
importantly there is something different to read on each individual pigeon’s
preparation. The more we read about these top quality pigeons and how they are
conditioned makes these Scottish fanciers some of the best in Britain if not Europe.
Now you the readers of the British Homing World have the chance to purchase ONE
of these top quality pigeons at the very reasonable price of £60.00 per pigeon which is
only a fraction of their true monetary value. I emphasis again that the Sporting
Challenge is about promoting the sport of pigeon racing, there is no financial gain to
any of the fanciers taking part. The winners receive a trophy and the remaining
fanciers a memento; a diploma and their meal paid at the presentation night from the
proceeds of this young bird sale. I again thank everyone who donated pigeons to this
sale their support is very much appreciated.
Rules of the sale
This young bird sale will again be a postal ballot and all entries must be sent to Joe
Murphy Mystical Rose Cottage 2 Flutorum Avenue Thornton by Kirkcaldy KY1
4BD or by email to joejmurphy@blueyonder.co.uk by Saturday 22nd August 2009.
Fanciers are requested to write in with their choice of lot numbers, their name, address
and phone number. As we have a youngster direct from our winner Richmond
Maverick it will still be sold at the same price of £60.00 which proves that the
sporting challenge is here to promote the sport and not to ‘cash in’ on this or any other
pigeon success. As with previous sales I am prepared to give you the fanciers a fair
deal as I will allow you to bid for 3 pigeons of your choice in this draw however NO
one person will win 2 pigeons if your name is drawn out against Richmond
Maverick then you cannot win another pigeon in this draw. If your name comes out
again against another pigeon then it will be the second name drawn out that wins the
pigeon. I think it is only fair that we have ONE PIGEON PER PERSON which will
allow 19 different fanciers the chance to each receive a top quality pigeon. I cannot be
any fairer than this. All entries will be put into individual Lot numbers and a name
will be drawn out. This will take place at Methilhaven club rooms on Monday 24th
August with individual fancier’s making the draw. If you would like to take part then
SEND me an Envelope or email with your name address phone number and the lot
numbers you wish to be entered in. Once the draw has been made I will contact the
successful purchasers who once payment has been made I will send them the contact
number for the fancier donating the young pigeon. All purchasers will have to pay for
the carriage of the pigeon. We start the sale with a youngster direct from Richmond
Maverick the Sporting Challenge winner; Good Luck!!
