Waterworks Raw, In-Process & Final Water Quality
Monthly Report: MAY 2013
Introduction
This report summarises the results of monitoring at the Ballyboden, Ballymore Eustace, and
Roundwood waterworks carried out during MAY 2013.
The percentage compliance figures of the final water for each of the waterworks in this report
are based on the parametric values listed in the European Communities (Drinking Water)
(No.2) Regulations, 2007 (S.I. 278 of 2007). In the case of fluoride notice is also drawn,
whenever applicable, to any result below 0.6mg/l which is the minimum concentration
specified for fluoridated water supplies in the Fluoridation of Water Supplies Regulations
2007 (S.I. No. 42 of 2007).
Results Summary
1. Vartry Works Roundwood.
Compliance of the final water with the European Communities (Drinking Water)
(No.2) Regulations, 2007 (S.I. 278 of 2007) is set out below. Results are
summarised in Appendix 1.

4. Aluminium Residuals - Treated Waters.
A more detailed breakdown of aluminium residuals in final water (ex. waterworks) is
(excluding Vartry Works Roundwood – as Aluminium is not used in the water
treatment process) is presented in Appendix 4.
5. Cryptosporidium/Giardia Analysis.
Results for cryptosporidium/giardia analysis of the raw (pre-treatment) and final water
(ex. waterworks and open storage reservoir) is presented in Appendix 5.
6. Biological Testing.
A summary of Diatom counts for the Roundwood raw (pre-treatment) water is
presented in Appendix 6.
