Friesians (29): Topped at £96 for J Millard, £78 for Stroud Green Farm, £76 for L J Scott. Farming Friesians all £45+ only a few going to kill, all Friesians averaged £37. Native Breeds (16): A run of medium quality Hereford bulls topped at £124, £123 and £116 from P J & S Bennett, average £110. Hereford heifers topped at £90, £88 and £83 for first quality sorts from the same home. Angus bulls topped at £175 for C & E Best, £156 for J Millard. Angus heifers from the same home sold at £128 and £117. Simmental (11): Fewer on offer today saw bulls top at £252 for Stroud Green Farm, £238 and £240 for M B A Jordan. Best £190+, medium types very dear at £170 - £180. Heifers reached £140 and £116 for Stroud Green, £130 for R L Hares & Sons. Limousin (4): A very smart bull from C & E Best reached £248, heifers to £92 for M T & I Scott all heifers £88+, a Blonde heifer from Chris Gallop made £92. British Blue (22): Strong entry saw best bulls well sold at £238+ with 7 over this figure topping at £240, £248, £250 (twice) and £260 for W J Tinney & Sons. L J Scott’s bull also made £248. Some smaller 3rd quality bulls made £135-£155. A tremendous trade on blue heifers topping at £175 for L J Scott & Son, £122 and £122 for W J Tinney & Son. All best heifers £90+, medium types £71 - £80. Weaned Calves (24): Nine 2 months Holstein Friesian bulls made £48, another run of quality Hereford steers from Stevens Farms (3 months) made £195, Hereford bulls from the Ormond Farm Partnership sold well at £180, heifers also 2 months made £142 per head. C G Davies, Minsterworth made £232 for May born heifers, his May born Blue bull made £272. Angus heifers from Stevens Farms (March 07) made £186 per head. 106 ORGANIC CATTLE 11.30 am - Auctioneer: Jon Pullin Today’s genuine Dispersal Sale of Organic Suckler Cows on behalf of Castle Hill Partners met a firm trade with the organic youngstock a tremendous trade. Best organic cows topped at £620 (Mar 04) and £600 (May 05), best cows traded at £500 upwards with older cows £350 - £420. The Pedigree British White cows met firm demand reaching £620, £510 and £500. The store cattle sold tremendously well with April 06 Continental x steers at £725, £690 and £640, 1 Hereford April 06 at £635, Stabiliser x (Mar/April 06) at £645, Charolais (April 06) £702.
