Take I-95 south to Route 322 west. Follow 322 west to its intersection with U.S.
Route 1. Follow U.S. Route 1 south approximately 3.5 miles to Chadds Ford. Turn
left into the Brandywine River Museum, just past the intersection with Creek Road.
Tour of Brandywine Battlefield
The Brandywine Battlefield brings to life the largest engagement of the
Revolutionary War, fought on September 11, 1777, between the Continental
Army led by General George Washington and the British forces headed by
General William Howe.

The afternoon program will consider the development of a new, regular American
Army as envisioned by Washington and created by Von Steuben. In addition, the
problems of the Quartermaster department and the internal politics of the Revolution
applied to Washington and his rivals will be addressed.
