Description
Interconnect Extension Circuits (IECs) provides you with the ability to extend
the reach of your network, by providing a 2Mbit/s circuit from an In-Span
Interconnect (ISI) Point of Connection (PoC), to a remote BT switch location
via BTs network.
You would usually interconnect with BT at the most cost effective and
convenient point that your network allows (outside a BT exchange). Where it
is impractical for you to develop your physical network to a remote BT switch,
an IEC via the existing PoC will enable connectivity.
IECs are only available in conjunction with In-Span Interconnect (ISI) circuits.
5.
Commercial/Regulatory
Interconnect Extension Circuits (IECs) are a regulatory product offered to
other Communication Providers (CPs) and require a 90 day notification for a
price change.
6.
Network
IECs allow you to extend the reach of your ISI Interconnect and are not
available without an associated ISI circuit. An IEC provides a 2Mbit/s circuit
from a PoC to another switch location within the BT network.

See Appendix 1.
8.
How Is The Product Invoiced
Interconnect Circuits are priced under the Network Charge Control (NCC)
regime within the Interconnect Specific basket of the NCC whereby the basket
has to comply with an overall RPI-x% per annum price cap (where “x” is the
controlling percentage).
ISI Interconnect with IEC is invoiced in advance based on circuit volumes at
the start of the period. Adjustments are applied to each invoice to ensure all
circuit changes (provisions, ceases & rearrangements) during the previous
period are accurately invoiced.

Circuit Rearrangements
Circuit rearrangements attract individual per rearrangement charges (per
IBC).
Connection Charge Rebate
Depending on the age of a circuit being ceased it may qualify for a proportion
of the original connection charge paid to be rebated..

What Do You See
Invoices are prepared and despatched at the beginning of each period. An
example ISI invoice can be found from the SIMPLE menu.
Two invoicing options are available:
 For those customers wishing to receive a full invoice, it will
consist of a summary sheet together with a breakdown of each
circuit and how it is being charged. These are despatched by
post.
 Alternatively, if a customer wishes the data in electronic format,
the summary sheet is despatched by post and an MS Excel file
that provides the circuit breakdown is sent via e-mail.
See Appendix 2 for a summary of debit and credit items that may be found on
an ISI/IEC invoice.
