Description
In-Span Interconnect (ISI) provides you with the ability to offer PSTN (Public
Switch Telephone Network) telephony and data services to your customers,
by providing the physical access and 2Mbit/s connection to a BT exchange.
You can then benefit from Call Origination and Call Termination on BTs PSTN
network.
5.
Commercial/Regulatory
ISI Interconnect Circuits are a regulatory product offered to other
Communication Providers (CPs) and require a 90 day notification for a price
change.
6.
Network
Operational costs are kept low as infrastructure is built collaboratively.
Equipment is installed by yourself at your premises, which interconnects at an
agreed Point of Connection (PoC) in the public highway. Therefore you
require the necessary permits and expertise to work in the public highway.
If the PoC is within 100m of the BT building no charges apply. If however you
wish to nominate an alternative PoC, separate charges are applicable. This
option is called Nominated ISI.
Various options for ISI delivery are available. Separate charges apply for
these options:

Nominated ISI

Path Protection
To complete your ISI interconnection, 2Mbit/s Intra-Building Circuits (IBCs)
are required at the BT exchange. This provides connectivity from the ISI
equipment to the BT switch. Separate charges will apply for the IBC.

8.
How Is The Product Invoiced
Interconnect Circuits are priced under the Network Charge Control (NCC)
regime within the Interconnect Specific basket of the NCC whereby the basket
has to comply with an overall RPI-x% per annum price cap (where “x” is the
controlling percentage).
ISI Interconnect is invoiced in advance based on circuit volumes at the start of
the period. Adjustments are applied to each invoice to ensure all circuit
changes (provisions, ceases & rearrangements) during the previous period
are accurately invoiced.

Circuit Rearrangements
Circuit rearrangements attract individual per rearrangement charges (per
IBC).
Connection Charge Rebate
Depending on the age of a circuit being ceased it may qualify for a proportion
of the original connection charge paid to be rebated.

What Do You See
Invoices are prepared and despatched at the beginning of each period. An
example ISI invoice can be found from the SIMPLE menu.
Two invoicing options are available:
 For those customers wishing to receive a full invoice, it will
consist of a summary sheet together with a breakdown of each
circuit and how it is being charged. These are despatched by
post.
 Alternatively, if a customer wishes the data in electronic format,
the summary sheet is despatched by post and an MS Excel file
that provides the circuit breakdown is sent via e-mail.
See Appendix 2 for a summary of debit and credit items that may be found on
an ISI invoice.
