Initial Disclosures for Certification of Veterans Benefits
As a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary or The College at Southeastern receiving Veterans Benefits from the
Department of Veterans Affairs, I understand and will comply with the responsibilities disclosed below:
Please read and initial each item:









I have completed VA Form 22-1990 or 22-1995 (Application for VA Educational Benefits).
I have provided a copy of both my application for VA Benefits and Certificate of Eligibility from
the VA to the Southeastern Financial Aid Office.
I understand that I cannot receive educational benefits for courses that are not required for my
degree program. All of my current courses are required for my degree program or have been
approved as a substitution.
I understand that the VA will hold me personally responsible for any overpayment of my
education benefits resulting from reduction or terminations of enrollment.
I understand that I must report if I am deployed or there are any changes in my address, degree
program, or course schedule (add, drop, withdrawal) to the Southeastern Financial Aid Office
immediately.
I understand that all Incomplete grades on my transcript will be reported to the VA after one year
and may result in a reduced payment or invoice from the VA.
I understand that if I am receiving benefits according to Chapter 30 or 1606, I must verify my
enrollment monthly with the VA.
I understand that I must report my registration to Southeastern’s Financial Aid Office each term
by submitting the Southeastern Veterans Certification Request Form in order to receive
educational benefits. If I fail to do so I will not be certified and therefore will not receive payment
from the VA.
I understand that if I have questions regarding the above regulations, I should contact
Southeastern’s Financial Aid Office.
