Your paper should contain the following information:
What does it look like?
What producers grow there (list as many as you can find).
What consumers (animals, insects, etc.) grow there (classify them as carnivores,
herbivores, etc.)?
Where is this biome located?
What are the temperature ranges during different times of the year?
How much precipitation falls there during different times of the year?
What plant and animal adaptations have evolved there?
What is the soil like there?
How are humans affecting that area?
What threats oppose your biome?
What are some things we can do to help your biome?
Any other important information you find.
Food Web: You should make a food web with colored drawings or pictures showing the
organisms that exist in your biome.
Energy Pyramid: You should choose some of the organisms that exist in your biome and make
an energy pyramid (should be colored with drawings of the animals).
Drawing: You should make a colored picture of your biome that shows the landscape and some
of the organisms that live there.
Map: You need to make a map of the world and color in the areas where your biome exists.
PowerPoint Presentation: You need to make a PowerPoint presentation to the class about your
biome. It should include the same information that is in your paper. Your presentation to the
class should be a minimum of 5 minutes long.
Posterboard: You also need to make a posterboard for this project to illustrate your biome.
Bibliography: You must cite at least five sources other than your text book for this project.
Grading: Each partner will receive a separate grade. Each partner must participate to receive
credit. At the end of the project each partner will be asked to grade him/herself and the rest of the
group members. The overall project will be worth 150 points.
Due Date: Presentations will be announced as we progress through this project.
