Provide students with an understanding of the Principles and basics of pharmacology, the mechanisms of drugs actions used for endocrine disorders, cancer and osteoarthritis and inflammatory diseases. 2. Comprehend principles of pathophysiology of diseases such as cancer, endocrine disorders, osteoarthritis and inflammatory diseases. 3. Learn information about various drug classes of hormones, chemotherapeutic agents, anticancer agents and analgesics and the use of these drugs in endocrine diseases, cancer and pain and inflammation management. 4. Plan, design and conduct research about endocrine abnormalities, cancer osteoarthritis and inflammatory diseases management using appropriate methodologies. 5. Develop presentation skills. 6. The student should become a self learner and continue improvement of his professional knowledge and skills. 3- Intended Learning Outcomes of Course (ILOs): 1 Quality Assurance Unit Faculty of Pharmacy a. Knowledge and understanding After completing the course the student should be able to: a.1- Know the etiology, laboratory diagnosis and clinical features of different infections, cancer, pain, endocrine abnormalities, inflammation, and their pharmacotherapeutic approaches. a.2- Understand the pharmacological properties of hormones, chemotherapeutic agents, anticancer agents, analgesics mechanisms and anti-inflammatory of action, drugs therapeutic uses, including contra- indications, ADRs and drug interactions. a.3- Know and able to give brief account on the endocrine disorders, pathophsyiology of infections, cancer, pain inflammatory disorders and review how these are treated pharmacologically. b. Professional and Practical Skills After completing the course the student should be able to: b.1- Select medicines based on understanding of etiology and pathophysiology of endocrine disorders, various types of inflections, cancer, pain, and inflammation. b.2- Direct patients about safe and proper use of medicine in various endocrine disorders, various types of infections, cancer, pain and inflammation. b.3- Interpret case reports of different case conditions and analyzing its content. 2 Faculty of Pharmacy c.
