In this assignment you will need to complete tasks to a point value of 100 points. Show the teacher your assignment plan prior to commencing the assignment.

You will need to complete at least one task for each ‘Analysing, Creating and Evaluating’ components. The enrichment section is optional, (highly recommended).

You will need to use library resources, the internet as well as your own textbook to find your information.

You will have 3-4 sessions of class time to collect your information and you will not have homework for 2 weeks to allow you to complete the assignment at home.
The final assignment will be due 3 weeks following the first session.

Research the history of Algebra and write a summary
of your findings. (20 points)
Imagine you are a letter about to be solved in an equation.
Write a story about what happens to you as you go through
the calculations. Consider what steps you need to take to
solve the problem. (10 points)
Write a poem/song about ‘Algebraic expressions’. It must
rhyme and contain the following words: pronumeral, term,
coefficient and expression. It must be mathematically
correct. (15 points)
Make a timeline to show the discoveries that have led to our
current knowledge of Algebra. (15 points)
