How do I apply for a training certificate?
On the online application https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=jhsph, select “Certificate Only” in the
Degree Program field, “Non-departmental” in the Department field, and then select your certificate
program of choice in the Track/Division field.
Are there opportunities for financial aid for this certificate?
No scholarships are available for students enrolled in the Training Certificate in Quantitative
Methods in Public Health. Only degree-seeking students are eligible for Federal loans. Students
in the Training Certificate in Quantitative Methods in Public Health may apply for private
alternative loans. These may be available in your home state. Alternatively, Citibank of Maryland
offers a “Citiassist” loan. The website for information and application for the Citibank loan is

What is the tuition?
The rate for the 20011-12 academic year is $892 per credit and usually increases by
approximately 5% each year.
Can I transfer these courses to a degree program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School
of Public Health?
If you satisfy the admissions criteria and are admitted to the MPH program, the courses in this
certificate program can be applied to the MPH degree. It is also possible that the courses may be
applied to one of the MHS degree programs. For more information on these degree programs

How can I plan my course schedule?
Problem Solving in Public Health should be taken first. The Data Analysis Workshops I and II
should be taken after the Statistical Reasoning in Public Health courses. Observational
Epidemiology should be taken after either Principles of Epidemiology or Fundamentals of
Epidemiology and the Statistical Reasoning in Public Health courses. Listed below are the
courses for this certificate program and different options for taking them.
