Request for Exception for Participant Compensation
The NIU policy for compensation of research participants allows for compensation of $100 or less per
participant to be made in cash. If you wish to exceed the $100 limit for cash payments, please complete this form
and submit it to the Assistant Vice President for Research and Sponsored Programs. Exceptions may be granted
on a case-by-case basis after consideration by the Assistant Vice President for Research and Sponsored
Programs and Vice President for Research and Innovation Partnerships.
