First Announcement and Call for Papers
Dear Colleagues!
The Organizing Committee kindly invites you to take part in the work of the Scientific
and Practical Conference with International Participation and School of Young Scientists
«Pharmacology, Physiology and Pathology of Kidney, Urinary Tract and Water-Salt
Metabolism», which will be held at the National University of Pharmacy (Kharkiv, Ukraine),
on the 1-3 October 2014.
The aim of the conference is to discuss creatively the status and prospects of research
in the field of renal pharmacology, physiology and pathophysiology of the kidney and watersalt metabolism, as well as fundamental and applied nephrology and urology. The school of
young scientists with lectures by leading specialists, master classes and competition of works
of young scientists is included into the conference programme. The consideration of
problems of education in their respective fields is also planned. Leading experts from
Ukraine, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Moldova, the Republic of
Tajikistan, Georgia, Republic of Poland, State of Israel and other countries are expected to
participate in the conference.
The conference is registered in Ukrainian Institute for Scientific-Technical and
Economic Information (certificate number 822, dated 03 December 2013).
The participants of the conference will receive certificates together with the materials
of the conference. The working languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Russian and
English. Proceedings of the conference will be published in the book of abstracts or in the
form of articles in the Ukrainian Biopharmaceutical Journal, which is recommended for the
dissertations materials publication. The competition of works will be held among the young
scientists participating in the conference and a possibility to make presentations at the special
conference session will be given to the winners.
Important dates:
May 20, 2014 – the last day of materials submission (submission form, articles, abstracts) for the
participation in the conference.
October 1, 2014 – conference opening, plenary session and symposiums.
October 2, 2014 – school of young scientists and competition of works of young scientists, as well
as symposiums.
October 3, 2014 – poster session, the reports of the winners of the competition of young scientists
works, conference summary, adoption of resolution and conference closing.
For the participation in the conference the following materials should be sent before
May 20, 2014:

FORMAT REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS
Papers should fit on 1 or 2 full A4 pages (not exceeding 36 lines per page), prepared using
Microsoft Office Word, the font is Times New Roman, the font size is 12, the line spacing is
1.5, page orientation is "book", with margins as following: bottom – 2 cm, top, left and right
– 1.5 cm.

Relevance.

Conclusions.
The relevance, purpose and objectives of the work , materials and methods, results and
conclusions are obligatory to be reflected briefly in the structure of the abstract. Each section
should begin on a new line, without a paragraph, with using bold font for a section name.
Only SI units should be used in the abstract, all abbreviations and symbols should be
explained Words, written in Latin, should be set in italics (C. albicans, Helicobacter pylorі
etc.).
Hyphenation (both manual and automatically made) should not be applied in the abstract.
It is necessary to use the correct way of indices writing, for example, in the ions names (Na+,
Са2+ etc.), vitamins names (В6, В9, В12 etc.), isotopes names, mathematical formulas etc.
Numeric ranges should be given with dashes – (without any spaces, for example
4.3–4.7 mmol/l), but not with a hyphen, hyphen with spaces should not be used instead of
dash.
In order to retain the correct structure of the text after formatting, the authors are kindly
asked to use non-breaking space (key combination Ctrl + Shift + Space) instead of the usual
space in such cases: before and after all mathematical symbols ( + , - , : , × , ± , < > etc.),
before doses indication (ml/kg, g , mg/kg, U, IU etc.), concentration values (g/l, mmol/l etc.),
time intervals (months, s, min), percents (%), temperature measures (° C), other physical and
mathematical values as well as names and initials.
The text should not have any syntax and spelling errors.
The author is solely responsible for the content of submissions, the reliability of the
results and third parties intellectual property rights protection .

FORMAT REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTICLES
1. Original and other types of articles with the general number of pages not exceeding
10–11 (including all structural elements) may be submitted.
2. Papers should fit on A4 pages, prepared using Microsoft Office Word, the font size
is 14, the line spacing is 1.5, with margins as following: left – 3 cm, right – 1 cm, top and
bottom– 1.5 cm. the article begins with the following data: UDC code, initials and names of
all authors (left aligned), the name of the institution/organisation, in which the work was
performed (italic, left aligned), if there are several authors, information about each is given
on separate lines, article title (bold, left aligned), summary (centered as following:
SUMMARY, text of summary with paragraph, Keywords – a list of 3–8 key words with
paragraph. After a blank line the text of the article begins.
3. The authors should follow the general structure of the article and highlight the
obligatory structural elements as following:
3.1. General problem formulation, the relevance of the problem and its connection
with important scientific and practical issues.
3.2. Analysis of recent research and publications that had began the investigation of
the current problem and became the basis for the author’s research
3.3. Emphasizing of the certain parts of the general problem that have not been solved
before
3.4. Formulation of aims (objectives) of the article.
3.5. The basic materials of the research (methods and objects) with a substantiation of
the results.
3.6. Conclusions based on the results of the current research with the prospects of
further investigation in this field.
3.7. The list of references in alphabetical order. Citations in the text are indicated by
numbers in square brackets. There should be not less than five references in the article.
4. Article in English should be accompanied by summaries in English (at the
beginning of the article), Ukrainian and Russian (at the end of the article). All summaries
should contain UDC, initials and names of all authors, title of the article, keywords. If
necessary, the organizing committee provides the free translation of the summary into
Ukrainian and Russian.

5. The formulae should be sent in the separate files in Согеl Draw (version no later
than 11) ISIS draw; diagrams and figures – in Excel format or Согеl Draw (version no later
than 11), the photos can be represented as TIFF files 300-600 dpi Gray Scale (256 shades of
gray), JPG with the size not less than 1 MB. The graphic material width should equal
5.5 cm, 11.5 cm or 17.4 cm. Each figure, diagram, table should be given as a separate file.
6. Only SI units should be used in the article.
7. The figures and the corresponding captions are printed separately; all captions to the
pictures of certain article are given on a separate sheet. On the back of each printed figure its

number as well as the article name should be written in graphite pencil and, if necessary, –
top and bottom indicated.
8. Tables should be typed on separate sheets with the numbers and names. The
location of figures and tables should be specified on the margins of the text. The tables and
figures should not duplicate each other.
9. All materials of the article should be submitted in duplicate. One copy is printed in
the form in which the location of all text and graphic material is given as assumed by the
author. The second copy of the article, signed by all authors, should contain separately
printed text, figures, diagrams and other graphic materials.
10. The article should be accompanied by expert report and resolution of the
organization for printing.
11. The article should be accompanied by information about the authors including
academic title, degree, full name, institution/organisation, address for correspondence,
telephone and fax numbers, e-mail. This information should be printed on a separate sheet as
well as given in electronic form.
12. The author is solely responsible for the content of submissions, the reliability
of the results and third parties intellectual property rights protection .

Electronic version of the article or abstract and submission form (RTF format files)
should be sent to the Organizing Committee e-mail conference_nephro@ukr.net as separate
files attached to the one letter.

Please indicate in the submission form about the intention to participate in the young
scientists competition.
All articles are reviewed.

on your address. If you have not received this message within three days, please duplicate the
email or call the organising comittee (telephone numbers are given below).
