procedures.
Biohazard signs on storage freezer(s), refrigerator(s),
incubator(s), transport containers.
Exposure Control
Gloves, gowns/lab coat, eye protection, masks (as needed) are
available, stocked, and kept in BSL-2+ area.
Appropriate PPE is worn by all personnel.
Potentially infectious material is decontaminated prior to
disposal.
Potentially infectious material is placed in a leak-proof sealable
secondary container.
Smoking, chewing gum, handling contact lenses, applying
cosmetics is not allowed in lab. No food or drinks consumed or
stored in the lab.
Policy for safe handling and disposal of sharps are instituted
(No recapping of needles, pipets disposed of as sharps).
Laboratory personnel are offered / receive appropriate
immunizations (e.g. Hepatitis B).
Biohazard spill procedures are in place and lab staff is trained.
