The 2014 Night Time Magic Holiday Light & Decorating Contest

(The contest theme was “Holiday Night Time Magic.”

Participants were encouraged to pick a theme for their inspiration)

And the winners are …

Best Dressed Historic Home: sharing the Magic of Christmas inside and out. Frank Miller House at

So much to see, this display is complete with Santa, Mickey, even a puppy and our new favorite: crazy

Christmas robot on his best behavior of course. Be sure to drive by for giggle and a smile.

Otherwise known for the Pink Elephant – one of Albany’s top 50 things - We are equally delighted with the

Christmas cut outs with every inch lit up to create a bright and happy display.

Tune your radio to the custom holiday radio station displayed on the sign in the front yard, and watch a light show that’s timed to the music and special effects you hear.

We have it on good authority that these folks even shared resources to help newer neighbors really shine bright during the holidays. There is truly magic is in the making of a community.

Commercial Effort –Downtown First Avenue SW Sidewalk Trees and Snowflakes . First Avenue has really taken on a new life with the magic of light. Volunteer efforts steered by the Albany

Downtown Association Design Committee have led the way to brightening up Albany’s downtown during the holidays.

Photos of the winning homes will be on display on the Albany Visitors Association website along with a list of locations to see. Winners will receive a Winner Photo Award Certificate, and a gift. Winners will also be entitled to bragging rights for the entire year! Thank you to all the homeowners who participate in this program, without your efforts this wonderful community tradition would not be possible.
