This weekend is the third and final qualifying weekend for New Zealand’s Professional Bowls
Association in 2014 with players at five venues battling to win spots in the PBA’s Finals Weekend in
Hastings to play-off for NZ’s International Open Singles entry. Ranking points are also up for grabs to
find the top four ranked players to join Hawkes Bay’s Murray Glassey in next year’s Australia v New
Zealand PBA Trans Tasman Challenge.
Early feature games in the International Open Singles qualifiers include 19-year old local Dean
Drummond up against Manawatu’s Steve Love in Hastings; a Saturday afternoon clash pitting NZ
number one Duane White against Canterbury’s Shayne Sincock in Dunedin; and incredibly a fourth
meeting this season between Southland’s Roger Stevens and Sheldon Bagrie-Howley in Invercargill.
