How to Use this Document
This chart is a template that your Committee can use as a work sheet. You can also use it to record in a short document the Committee’s most
important SMART Goals for the next 36 months as reflected in its Three Year Plan.. The template is designed to be flexible. You may find that
not all fields are necessary and you may want to add fields.
What are Top Goals? The most important things you want to accomplish as a committee chair. The areas listed are among the most common
areas of concern for Section committees. This list may provoke ideas on your part on projects to undertake in these areas.
Rely on your Three Year Plan Smart Goals as a detailed project plan that sets out the interim steps, who has responsibility for completing them
and by when and the final completion dates.
