Individual Materials: Notes (Paper), Pencil, Math Notebook or folder. Calculators: TI-84 Plus calculators will be assigned to each student for in class use only. They will NOT be checked out to students at any time for any reason. You are responsible for the safe return of the calculator, every day. Links to online calculators are listed on my web page. Students are welcome to purchase a graphing calculator for their personal use but this is not required. III. Classroom Expectations, Rules, and Consequences Classroom Expectations: Upon entering take out homework, check solutions, and turn homework into the box (this should be completed within the first five minutes). Follow instructions written on the board under the daily agenda. During class students are expected to participate both in note taking as well as in-class assignments. Off topic conversations are unacceptable during lessons. Students are expected to remain in their assigned seats unless they need to get materials. Students should continue to work until the last two minutes of class. During the last two minutes of class students will return their calculators to the proper place. Failure to return calculators could result in the loss of calculator privileges. They will return books to the book shelf and any materials they may have borrowed. Desks should be returned to their original position and trash should be thrown away. Students must remain in their seats until the bell releases them. Classroom rules: Be respectful. Respect all others in the classroom as well as their personal belongings. Be prepared. Bring supplies every day, participate and work in class, and turn in assignments on time. Be responsible. Take care of personal needs prior to coming to class. Get missed notes and assignments when you are absent. Stay awake and participate during class. No cell phones or other media devices in the classroom. School rules: Tardy students will not be allowed in class until they have received a pass from the secretary. Student will not be allowed in the room without an ID properly displayed. Bottled water only within the classroom. Students must remain in the classroom for the first and last ten minutes of class. Students may not leave the room without a pass. Behavioral or academic concerns will be handled in the following manner: 1. Redirection/correction of the behavior 2. Parental contact by teacher 3. Teacher issued detention (only in cases pertaining to classroom rules). Student will be assigned a 30 minute teacher detention before or after school. Failure to attend teacher detention will result in a referral to your principal and a further consequence will be assigned. All campus rules are subject to immediate principal referrals. 4. Written referral Academic Honesty: We will utilize secure testing practices for every test. Cellphones, media devices and all personal belongings will be placed at the front of the room. If a cell phone or other media device is seen or heard while testing is taking place it will be considered a testing irregularity and will result in an automatic zero as well as a written referral. In this situation a student will be unable to retest the exam. If a student is found copying homework, both students will receive a zero for the assignment in addition to a teacher issued detention. The student will be unable to make up the assignment. Absence Policy: Students are responsible for obtaining missed notes/information, from classmates, during tutoring, or online when available. Missed assignments and worksheets will be posted on my website or can be obtained from the absent work box in class. Students who are absent are expected to turn in the homework due on the day they missed class upon return to class. If this work is not complete it is then considered late and will follow the late policy listed below. Students will be given one extra day for each day they are absent to turn in homework assignments they missed while absent. IV.
