Academy of Court Reporting and Wyo Tech are a few that are participating this

Live Poets Society of New Jersey Contest
High school students can enter their poems of 20 lines or less; must be

The Ohio Newspaper Foundation offers this scholarship to applicants that are
African American, Hispanic, Asian American or American Indian, have a GPA of
2.5 or higher, and plan to major in a degree program in a field relevant to the

communications at an Ohio college or university.

Applicants must submit an essay of between 500- and 1500-words with theme
being “Something I learned related to high school football”. The contest is open

Orphan Foundation of America: Casey Family Scholarship
Open to young people under the age of 25 who spent 12 months prior to their
18th birthday in foster care of who were adopted or placed into legal
guardianship from foster care after their 16th birthday; renewable for up to 5
years based on satisfactory progress and financial need; special requirements

**Edward J. Harvey Scholarship
Applicants must be planning to attend any higher education institution
(accredited by a regional accrediting association) on a full-time basis.
Preferences will be given to students showing financial need and satisfactory
academic achievement or ability (GPA of 2.5 or above). Scholarship applicants
are also recognized by ACT/SAT scores and outside activities and a 500-word
essay.

**Ashtabula County Safety Council Scholarship
Applicants must be an employee, or spouse/child of an employee of an active
member company of the Ashtabula County Safety Council; show a desire to
complete a training or degree program at an accredited institution – priority will
be given to applicants who show an interest in Safety Related Training or
Education but may be awarded to a student in any career field. A type-written
essay and three letters of recommendation are required. Please see application

**The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship
The applicant’s parent or grandparent must me a member of the Teamsters
Union; rank in the top 15% of their high school class; have or expect to have
excellent SAT or ACT scores; and demonstrate financial need. Your associate
school counselor must complete the application form and supply an official
transcript; your completed for is then sent by you to the Teamster member
relation’s Local Union, System Federation or National Division.

Applicants will need to be pursuing a full-time program of study at an accredited
two- or four-year technical school, college or university to pursue a career in
graphic communications, printing technology, printing management or
publishing. You must submit a copy of your ACT or SAT score, your official
transcript, a copy of your intended course of study from the college you plan to

Applicants must be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall
of 2014, may be enrolled at any level in any program that is two years in length

American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship Contest
Applicants read the “Fire Sprinkler Essay” and take a 10 question multiple choice
open book test. You can refer to the essay text online or refer to a printed copy.
You receive notification of questions answered incorrectly. You will be given one
more chance to answer those questions q=correctly. The number of questions
answered correctly equals the number of times your name will be entered into

The William D. Squires Scholarships
Eligibility for this scholarship is primarily based on financial need. The Estimated
Family Contribution (EFC) on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) Student Aid Report (SAR) must be less than 8,000 to apply. Applicants
must already know their career goals, be highly motivated, have good character,

Primary Health Network charitable Foundation Scholarship
These scholarships require applicants to have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Applicants
must be pursuing a degree/certificate in Administrative/Clinical health care field
(examples include dental hygiene, massage therapy, medical billing/coding; see
application for more). One letter of recommendation and an essay describing

**Ashtabula County Farm Bureau Scholarship
Applicants’ parent/guardian must have been a member of the Ashtabula County
Farm Bureau for the past 3 years; be a full-time enrollee of any field in a two- or
four-year college or university working toward an undergraduate degree; must
submit the application, a photo of yourself and a 500-word essay that includes
your school and non-school activities, hobbies/interests and any other
information to consider.

Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools Legislative Scholarship
34 participating Ohio career colleges and schools offer full and one-half tuition
or specific dollar amount scholarships for specific areas of study at specific
institutions for diploma, certificate, Associate and Bachelor Degrees. Applicants
need a “C” average, must be nominated by a current member of the Ohio
Legislature (your A-Tech Guidance Counselor or Mrs. Peck, ACCESS Advisor will
help with this), and must submit two letters of recommendation and write a
250-word statement explaining why you want a career in the field you list on the
application. Some of the participating schools are: Art Institute of Ohio –
Cincinnati; Cleveland Institute of Dental-Medical Assistants, Mentor; Brown
Mackie College, Akron; Bryant & Stratton, Eastlake; ETI Technical College of
Niles; ITT Technical Institute, Columbus; and Trumbull Business College. You may
apply to up to three different scholarships on separate applications. See your ATech Guidance Counselor or Mrs. Peck to go further with this scholarship
application.

**Grand Valley Ruritan Club Community Service Scholarship
Applicants must be a Grand Valley senior with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.
The GV Ruritans will be looking for applicants with volunteer community service
hours and high school activities. There are several short answer questions on the
application.

**Jeffrey B. Meddock Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be a senior from Pymatuning Valley High School; submit a typed
application, a copy of their transcript with 7th semester grades, a letter of
recommendation form a community member addressing community service, a
letter of recommendation from a faculty member addressing academic
performance, a copy of their acceptance letter from the post-secondary
institution or technical school and a typed essay –see the application for the
theme of the essay. Submit everything to PVHS Guidance Office.

Applicants must be a senior from Pymatuning Valley High School that is accepted
as a full-time student at a school of higher learning which grants a degree
beyond a high school diploma; submit a current transcript, a completed typed
application and a typed essay stating why they deserve this scholarship and why
they need financial assistance. Submit everything to PVHS Guidance Office.

Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley High School senior; must submit a 500word essay (see application for what to include in the essay), a copy of your
acceptance letter to an institution of higher learning and a current copy of your

**A-Tech Student Scholarship
A-Tech seniors with an overall GPA of 2.5 or better planning to enroll at any
trade/technical post-secondary school, two- or four-year college or university
can apply. Three letters of recommendation are required (one from your career
tech instructor; one from an academic teacher; one from another academic
teacher, an employer, youth group leader, etc. Submit the application and your
letters of recommendation to your A-Tech Guidance Counselor.

A-Tech seniors with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better planning to enroll at any
trade/technical post secondary school, two- or four-year college or university
can apply. Attendance may also be taken into consideration. Three letters of
recommendation are required (one from our career tech instructor, one from an
academic instructor and one from an adult you know within the community.)
Submit the application and your letters of recommendation to your A-Tech

**Ashtabula Lions Harris-Dean Memorial Scholarship
Seniors from Edgewood, Lakeside, Jefferson or St. John High Schools are eligible
to apply. Selection is based on a balanced consideration of leadership, character,
and achievement in and outside the classroom and a financial need; must be
planning to attend an accredited American college or university on a full-time
basis. Applicants must submit a copy of their transcript and their SAT or ACT
results.

**Ashtabula County Agricultural Scholarship Fund
This fund offers a number of different scholarships with specific requirements
such as: planning to study agriculture, natural resources, family & consumer
sciences, animal sciences or environmental sciences; come from a commercial
dairy farm family; derive a portion of the family’s income from farming or
construction, be a member of 4-H. Applicants must submit an official transcript
that includes class rank, two letters of recommendation and a head and

Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley High School senior; applied or been
accepted by an institution of higher learning; plans to pursue studies in fields
relating to English, music or library science. A letter of application is required –

**Ashtabula County Cattlemen’s Association 2014 Youth Scholarship
Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited full four-year college or an
accredited two-year technical institute in 2014-2015. First preference will be
given to a deserving student who has been involved in the beef industry as a
youth (working on a family beef farm, involved in a beef project through 4-H or
FFA, etc.). Second preference will be given for a student planning to study a beef
related field. An official transcript is required.

**The Bloom Family 4-H Scholarship
Applicants must be in incoming freshman planning to attend The Ohio State
University or ATI. The application requires information about your number of
years as a 4-H member and 4-H projects taken, 4-H county and state activities
and honors and awards received, local and county 4-H offices held, other
leadership experiences through 4-H, what you have learned through 4-H and the
impact 4-H has made upon your plans for the future, experiences in school,
community and/or other groups and activities, etc.

**Ashtabula County 4-H Foundation Scholarship
Applicants must have been a member of the Ashtabula County 4-H program for
at least 5 years and been accepted to a college, university, technical or trade
school. Applicants must submit the completed application, a current transcript
of grades, a letter of support from your academic advisor or school guidance
counselor, a photo of yourself and a one page statement of financial need. The
scholarship will be awarded based on: participation in 4-H activities and
programs, service to the community, character, financial need and scholastic
record.

Bradford School Scholastic Achievement Scholarship
Applicants planning to enroll in Bradford School to study Graphic Design,
Medical Assisting or Culinary Arts (Pro Start 2014 graduate) need to have a GPA
of 3.0 or better. Winners will receive $1000 for their 1st academic year and the
opportunity to receive up to an additional $1000 in their 2nd academic year. Go

**William H. Searcy Memorial Scholarship
Applicants must be enrolling in an approved program for the preparation of
teachers, be in the top 25% of his/her graduating class, be of sound character,
demonstrate above-average achievement on college entrance exams,
demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activity and community service.
Three letters of recommendation and an essay are required.

**Gold Pride Scholarship
Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley senior accepted as a full-time student at
a college or university or at a trade school; must submit a current high school
transcript, the most recent report card, a list of all extracurricular activities (i.e.
band, drama, FFA, FCCLA, etc.), a list of all sports played at PVHS, a list of any
academic honors that have been received and a list of any community services
the applicant has been a participant of during high school. Submit everything to
the PVHS Guidance Office.

**The Thomas E. & Jacalyn L. Vogt Scholarship
Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley High School senior with an overall GPA
of 2.7 or better. The completed application, a copy of your current transcript
with 7th semester grades and an essay (minimum of 200 words) explaining your
financial need and future goals must be submitted to PVHS Guidance Office.

**Cherry Valley Mothers Club Scholarship
Applicants must be a Pymatuning Valley High School senior planning to attend a
two- or four-year college, vocational, technical or business school. Applicants
must include a cover sheet with their name, address, their parents’ name,
number of family members in college, other scholarships received, school they
plan to attend, a current transcript and any other pertinent information. Also
include a 250-word essay about your plans, goals and why you think you should
receive the scholarship. Return your cover sheet and essay to the PVHS
Guidance office.

**Americans of Italian Heritage Scholarship
Applicants must be a high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, have at least
one parent of Italian descent, be a well-rounded student that can demonstrate
dedication and commitment to continuing your education and you must
demonstrate a financial need. Applicants must submit an official transcript and a
copy of the current Official Financial Aid Award Letter from the school you will
attend.

Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship
Applicants must have completed at least 100 hours of volunteer work over the
last 2 years (if chosen as the winner, the individual you name in the organization
that can verify the time you spent participating will be contacted); you must be
attending school at the undergraduate level in the fall of 2014. Applications can

**Teamsters Joint Council No. 41 $1000 College Tuition Scholarship
Applicants must be the son or daughter of an active, retired, disabled/deceased
or laid-off Teamster member who has or had at least 12 months of consecutive
membership in good standing in the Teamsters union affiliated with Joint Council
No. 41; be in the top 15% of his/her highs school class; plan to submit excellent
SAT or ACT scores and plan to attend a regionally accredited college or
university. Those who plan to attend non-academic or certificate programs may
not apply.

**Conneaut Hospital Thrift Shop Student Scholarship
Residents of Ashtabula county age 17 and older who are enrolled as high school
seniors or graduates may apply. Applicants’ area of study must be in the health
field such as nursing, dental, X-ray/lab technician, etc. Applicants or prior
recipients may reapply annually for a scholarship; two letters of
recommendation and an essay required – see application for details.

The Ohio War Orphans Scholarship
This program awards tuition assistance to the children of deceased or severely
disables Ohio veterans who served in the armed forces during a period of
declared war or conflict. A student must be enrolling for full-time undergraduate
study and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an eligible Ohio college

Ohio Dental Association Expanded Function Dental Assistant Scholarship
Open to seniors that are accepted in a dental program at an ADA-accredited
Ohio school. Selection is based on formal application, including 2 references,
