Be sure we have the best email to reach you! If you follow our Facebook page, visit Events and be sure to RSVP. We’ll share promotional posts that you can share with your guests; once you RSVP you can also invite anyone your Facebook friends! 3 Brainstorm a strategic list of guests Who do you want to introduce to the Donate Life Northwest community and mission? Individuals in the donation or transplant community unfamiliar with Donate Life Northwest People you know who give to charities / whose charities you have supported Vendors, business partners or connections, work colleagues Family, friends, caretakers Your company: would they be interested in sponsoring your table with a gift of $1,500 or more? See below! Be sure to let your invitees know the event is free to attend, but it is a fundraiser. Guests need to know they will be asked for a contribution or they may be caught off guard and feel uncomfortable. Personally invite guests Asking guests personally makes a big difference. Aim to invite 12-14 guests. It is okay if you cannot fill a table – we can pair you and your guests with another Table Captain. Each table seats 8 comfortably, and 10 guests maximum. If you have more than 10 guests, we will ensure that your tables are next to each other. Keep track of names & email addresses of your confirmed guests. Virtual Guests: If someone can’t attend the event, they can still make a gift online: “I’m so sorry you will miss this inspiring event, but I would appreciate your support of this great cause with a contribution at www.donatelifenw.org/give – – just reference my name and “Breakfast” so I can thank you!” Two Ways Your Company Can Help Does your company engage in community outreach? Corporate sponsors of the Breakfast receive favorable table placement, have the opportunity to promote their business, and receive an ad or listing in the event program and Donate Life Northwest’s annual report. Call 503.494.7888 to learn more. Sponsorships available for the Lifesavers Breakfast range from $1,500 - $7,500. Also, check to see if your company has a matching gift program. Your employer may match your gift dollar for dollar, and some may even double or triple the amount of your gift. Talk to your HR office for a matching gift form! Friday, October 23, 2015: Confirm # of seats needed Submit guest names & their email addresses to eganv@ohsu.edu by October 23. If we have the email addresses of your guests, they will be emailed an event reminder by Donate Life Northwest staff. If there are any changes (additions, cancellations) to your guest list after October 23, let Valerie know immediately! 4 Table Captain Duties: November 5, 2015 Check in by 6:45 am. Stop by Table Captain Check-in, located in the lobby (your guests are not required to check in). You will receive a packet, with simple day-of instructions attached. Please read them! During the program Do not distribute pledge forms before the emcee’s cue! In the last 15 minutes of the program, the emcee will prompt Table Captains to distribute pledge forms to guests, found inside your packet. Table Captains will collect pledge forms, place them in the packet, and return to Donate Life staff and volunteers, stationed at the Ballroom exits. After the event Thank your guests for coming! All contributors will receive a tax receipt / acknowledgement letter from Donate Life Northwest. We will let you know your table’s revenue once all contributions are counted. Sample Email Hi [Invitee], I am honored to be hosting a table at Donate Life Northwest’s Lifesavers Breakfast and I would love for you to join me. This event supports Donate Life Northwest’s efforts to register organ, eye and tissue donors and educate the public about the power of donation. As you know, I have a personal connection to the work being done by this organization and am a strong supporter of their mission. The breakfast is Thursday, November 5th at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. There is a coffee hour from 6:30am -7:30am and the one hour program will begin promptly at 7:30am. The program is moving and inspirational. It’s also packed, so I’ll be there early to have time to chat. There is no cost to attend, but there will be a formal ask at the event. If you can come with me, just reply to this email and come prepared to join a community of supporters who care deeply about some of the most powerful gifts one human being can give to another - life, sight, and mobility.
